The Pinnacle

Ms. Blue Eyes and I had a date night this past Monday evening. It rained extra hard on the drive there and settled down just as I pulled up across from her car. I'd forgotten my fleece to keep me warm, had forgotten an umbrella and she'd forgotten a mask. Fortunately she had an umbrella that we shared and I had an extra mask, so she and I were even more co-dependent than we usually are, this night. We had a nice stroll to the restaurant, had a nice dinner and then went for a stroll downtown. It was beautiful, too; the streets and sidewalk were wet and reflected the lights brilliantly and there weren't many people to clutter things. We spent the last 15 minutes in her car talking and at the end, she wanted to confirm that our relationship was still working for me. I told the truth, which was that it definitely is. The she half-jokingly reminded me that there's no other girl for me and we both laughed because we know it's true. Is this relationship working for me?
