I'd photographed my friend, Cheryl, on this very dry lake bed about 11 years ago, when I was just getting started in landscape nude photography. It was a fun shoot and I got some good pictures but I was a novice then and so when I review those pictures, I see so many opportunities. I always wanted to return to the dry lake bed because I knew that if given another opportunity (and a tall, pretty model), I'd correct the photographic mistakes that I made 11 years ago. Every real photographer wants to photograph on a dry lake bed but there's not exactly a dry lake bed on every corner, ya' know? Or in every state, either. Fortunately for me, there are about 10 dry lake beds within two hours until recently and I had the perfect model with me: she's pretty, she's blessed with great art-model genetics and she puts out. I thought through this shoot thoroughly and knew that I wanted to shoot from a low perspective, to accentuate her height and minimize the background. All I needed was a pose and all of a sudden, there it was. This is one of my favorite pictures that I've ever taken of Ms. Blue Eyes and I no longer have any reason to return to this dry lake bed. It is a perfect picture and should be hung in a private gallery somewhere. You're welcome, yet again, world.
