I first heard this song at work a few months ago and I liked it right away. I was surprised to learn that it came out 10 years ago. The song is so earnest and catchy and when I realized what he was saying, I really fell in love with it. Why? Because it reminds me of you, babe! In the song, Ezra sings about his many worldly possessions and how he'd give them all up for his girl, but he is actually speaking metaphorically, because he doesn't have any such possessions. His point is that he is aware that fine wordly posessions are there to be had, but he is not interested in them, as she is enough. That is how I feel! My worldly posessions are few (a few decent watches, a couple cool vintage four-wheel-drive trucks and...that'sabout it), but I am far more obsessessed with my time and future with you than I am interested in owning things. Well, a house would be nice, but truly if I had to choose between 1. owning a house, but never seeing you again or 2. renting a house forever, but getting to spend days upon weeks with you until the very end, I'd gladly choose option two.

My house in Budapest

My, my hidden treasure chest

Golden grand piano

My beautiful Castillo

You

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all

My acres of a land

That I've achieved

It may be hard for you to

Stop and believe

But for you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all

Oh, for you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all

And give me one good reason

Why I should never make a change

And baby if you hold me

Then all of this will go away

My many artifacts

The list goes on

If you just say the words

I'll, I'll up and run

Oh, to you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all

Oh, for you

Ooh, oh

Ooh, I'd leave it all

And give me one good reason

Why I should never make a change

Baby if you hold me

Then all of this will go away

Give me one good reason

Why I should never make a change

And baby if you hold me

Then all of this will go away

My friends and family

They don't understand

They fear they'll lose so much

If you take my hand

But, for you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd lose it all

Oh, for you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd lose it all

And give me one good reason

Why I should never make a change

And baby if you hold me

Then all of this will go away

Give me one good reason

Why I should never make a change

And baby if you hold me

Then all of this will go away

My house in Budapest

My, my hidden treasure chest

Golden grand piano

My beautiful Castillo

You

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all

Oh, for you

Ooh, you

Ooh, I'd leave it all
