Short Hike Yesterday, Longer Hike Tomorrow

We went for a short hike yesterday. It would've been longer, but the 12V battery in Ms. Blue Eyes' gave up the ghost. Fortunately, she has a handy, mechanically-inclined boyfriend (not that changing a battery requires any real automotive know-how), so I diverted from driving to our meet-up spot and headed to her place. It was all undramatic; I pulled the battery and drove behind her (she used her hybrid car's main battery's power) for the short drive to the auto parts store. We borrowed a ratched, long socket and an extension and in 10 minutes we were done and heading back. We'd spent our intended time doing that by there's a pretty watershed near where she lives so we headed there. It was so pretty and relatively undiscovered so we walked around a bit. Next to the running water that we found, these poppies were the biggest surprise.

We are going on a longer hike tomorrow, one that will most likely have our quads burning and feet sore, but it will be worth it, especially if she flashes her ass at me while we hike.
