Our First Visit To Indio

It was May 16, 2015 when we first visited Indio. Our ultimate goal was to see the Salton Sea, but along the way we saw a few other things. I thought this would be fun to write about because we are about to return next month and I think that we should do this again.

I had always wanted to see Salton Sea, but had never gotten there, so I was happy to go with you. As it were, it was uneventful and disappointing (neither of us "got" it) but we also did not stop by Bombay Beach or Salvation Mountain or East Jesus. We'll hit all of those when we visit next month!

For sure the highlight of the day was stopping at Shields Date Garden, where we had an excellent lunch (er, brunch) under beautiful date trees. Not only do I propose we got there again, but we should eat the same thing!

Our final stop was Thousand Palms Preserve, where we walked around for about 45 minutes and marveled over the huge, mature palm trees. I think we will most likely skip this one because we'll be making additional stops at Bombay Beach and East Jesus. Plus, we've got to get some great pictures in all of those places!

I'm looking forward to making this trip with you. You are every bit the great company that you were when we first visited nine years ago.
