On This, The Occasion Of My 53rd Birthday, A New Edit

What follows is a post that is made on my birthday, but it is not about my birthday. Heck, I don't even celebrate my birthday, though I don't mind if others do. During the four billion years that the earth has existed, many truly significant things have happened on and around my birthday; George Washington was inaugurated as the first president of the United States, the American Civil War began, President Lincoln was shot...My birthday is however as good of an occasion as any other to post this never-before-seen picture of the prettiest girl in all of the Midwest, and that is what I will be celebrating today.

This glorious picture was taken on March 15, 2015, 10 years ago. It is one of a series of similar shots that I titled "Fathers Be Good To Your Daughters," and they are among the most beautiful pictures that I have taken. It was just last weekend that I was looking through the particular folder that had this series in it, and boy, was I pleased to see this diamond of a picture. Everything from the pose, to the composition to the overall scene is just remarkable and I clearly remember how lucky I was to have been present at its creation. It makes me glad to have been born.
