The Marine Corps has two tie clasps that are authorized for wear while wearing the khaki tie.
While all branches of the Armed Forces of the United States authorize the wear of tie clasps or tacks with neckties, only the United States Marine Corps makes it mandatory for certain uniforms. Specifically, a necktie clasp must be worn whenever the khaki shirt is worn as the outer garment, which includes the Blue Dress “C” and the Service “B” uniforms (unless a sweater is worn over the khaki shirt of those uniforms, in which case neckties are not required). Clasps and tacks are positioned horizontally and placed on the tie so that it is halfway between the third and fourth buttons from the top of the shirt. Ms. Blue Eyes, however, has free reign to wear it however she pleases.
