Ms. Blue Eyes and I returned to the Mojave Desert this weekend, just a week after our last visit. We were motivated by the chance to see the stars when the sky is even darker than it was last week. This weekend saw a sliver of the moon and it didn't even come up until after 1:00 AM.

We arrived in 29 around and as we slowed down to get our 32 oz. drinks from the local AM/PM and as we pulled up, we noticed that there was an outdoor market going! It was a surprise because it was after 8:00 PM when we arrived. Fortunately, it was going until 9:00 PM so we stopped and walked around. It was lovely and the people there were so nice. We stopped to talk to a nice couple who are the owners of Canyon Creek Mushrooms. Their mushrooms are grown inside at their home in Yucca Valley, CA. Ms. Blue Eyes ended up buying some of their lion's mane mushrooms and they were delicious as we both discovered the following day (today). I got a falafel sandwich and it was amazing! We both agreed that we would return here periodically this year. This town and these people deserve it!

We headed out after that to find this old mining structure that I call the "manolith." It was pitch dark and difficult to find but we knew we were close as we drove east down Hwy 62. We turned down a road that looked like "the one" but wasn't. As we turned around down the dirt road, we stopped by a sign and I got out. A man in a car asked if we were looking for the NEOWISE comet that's making its last stop here for the next 6800 years and before I could say "uh, no, we're looking for a big-ass wooden structure," he said, "there it is, right there!" I looked in the direction that he was pointing and then called for Ms. Blue Eyes to come see it. She ran over thinking that she only had a few seconds of time before it passed out of vies (I thought the same) and was in awe when she saw it. It was low in the horizon and very clear to see. We spent the next half hour watching and photographing the comet, before saying goodbye to the man and searching for the Manolith.

Ms. Blue Eyes suggested that we try searching on Google Earth and that proved to be just what we need. We found it in seconds and were soon headed that way. We were about a mile west of the structure. We pulled up and got our to walk the remaining 75 meters. The sky was dark and the milky way was clear to see. I got a few pictures of the Manolith, some of just the milky way and some of Ms. Blue Eyes and the Manolith. We returned home around 1:00 AM or thereabouts and arrived 90 minutes later. Ms. Blue Eyes was sleepy and as she drifted off, I took time to molest her boobs and thighs. It was a simple, amazing night and I look forward to the next one. It's so nice to spend this much time with this pretty, pretty girl.
