I've really enjoyed high-key photography lately and I experimented a bit more this past weekend with my pretty, pretty girl as my subject matter. High-key photography involves taking photographs with a white (or light) background. It essentially eliminates shadows by letting more light into the camera, which in turn puts the majority of the tones in the photograph in the highlight region (to the right of the camera's histogram). The high-key effect highlights the subject well by eliminating or reducing the less important things or things that may be distracting/unimportant. Simply put, it makes the picture simpler which matters because in composition and design in general, less is more.
