This was originally a post to show you how I was planning on dressing on our Friday together, and then it evolved into an idea to keep the whole day 60s-themed, specifically, 1967-themed! I was thinking that in addition to our dress, we could keep it even more "60s" by playing music from that era for the entire day. Imagine that as I'm cooking omelets, The Turtles' "Happy Together" is playing, followed by Stevie Wonders' "I Was Made To Love Her." Later that evening after dinner, we listen to Strawberry Alarm Clock's "Incense and Peppermint," The Stones' "Ruby Tuesday," Jefferson Airplane's "Somebody To Love," and The Hollies' "On A Carousel" as we get...uh, elevated due to the inhalation of certain plants.

I'm going to call this day, the Friday of Love, which is a reference to the 1967 Summer of Love.

Ok, now on to what this post was originally about, which is my wardrobe for this day. As we discussed, we are going old school with our dress. So that I don't have to wear a coat, I'm going to go with a light sweater and it must have stripes. I'll pair that with some vintage-looking trainers, some colorful socks (that also must have stripes) and a pair of jeans, most likely Levi 501s. I took a few minutes to research the history of 501s, and was surprised to see that they came out in the 1950s and can be seen being worn by people during the Civil Rights era, by hippies, by artists and by actors of the day.

Of course we're going to have to take some pictures of us everywhere we go that day, from the museum, to the restaurant and back home again to...uh, imbibe. In weed.
