Every Bit As Pretty

My pretty girl,

After receiving those pictures that you sent me today, I have concluded that you must give me warning before stopping my heart like that. I was not mentally prepared for those pictures that you sent today and in my weakened state (this being my first day of recovery after a three-day headache), I could've had a real health event. As it were, I only had heart palpitations, but they went on for quite some time!

The last time that I was that taken aback anywhere close to today was earlier this year when I saw my first Basquiat in person, which was one of the highlights of my adult life. Basquiat was wonderful to see, but you are amazing to see! That pretty face of yours is truly a sight to behold. Needless to say, those pictures caused me great distraction today and I looked at them no less than 10 times before I even left my office. You've shared pictures of yourself as a young girl and as a young woman and from those pictures, it's obvious that you've always been a pretty girl, but what occurred to me today is that you are every bit as pretty now as you were when you were then! Really, who gets prettier as they get older?! I love that you send me pictures and I love that you are mine. There are eight billion people in the world and I'm not envious of one of them.

Now, about these poppies; I took these pictures on my hike this past weekend. The same hike that I sent you phone pictures and a video of. This post was initially going to be about poppies, but it was more appropriate to make it about those pictures and your pretty face. I will post the intended poppy post soon enough and with different pictures, but in the meantime, you can enjoy these. They are pretty for sure, but not as pretty as you are.
