Commitment, com·mit·ment, noun: the state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity, etc., a pledge or undertaking. E.g.,"my commitment to you is unlimited."
When we started dating back in 2014, we'd agreed to commit to being a couple through the end of the year. I didn't think you'd tolerate me that long (but at least I'd get to fuck you many times), but we saw that year through and we committed for all of 2015. That was an even easier decision, because I was completely smitten with you and the thought of you being with anyone else was maddening. I was so possessive of you. The years came and went and it became obvious that we are a very-long-term thing, and are at a point where we are incapable and unwilling to not be committed. It is fitting that just last month, on April 29, we held our commitment ceremony and made it formal: six more years of each other. This might seem like a lot to some, but it's actually only 2/3 of the time that we've already been together. We've got this one, easily.
