Bombay Beach Boat House, Sea View 2 Bed!

We recentlydiscussed the possibility of spending the night at Bombay Beach and we both agreed that we should make it happen. It would require departing 29 Palms a day early and driving south, but we'd planned to spend a day in Bombay Beach any way, so this idea just made sense. So, to that end, I reserved this cool Beach Boat House in Bombay Beach for Nov 13-14, which means that we'll spend a whole day AND night in Bombay Beach before departing for Palm Springs the following day. Can you imagine how cool it will be to listen to great 60s music in the evening as we walk along the beach?! It's going to happen, Ms. Blue Eyes! I've included a few reviews of the place below, as well as some pictures below.

"Richard’s place was mesmerizing! If you are looking for an experience and not just a place to stay, this is the place for you. The house is located very close to the artwork of Bombay Beach which has such a rich history. We were literally speechless and felt moved by what could have been and what this artists’ retreat ended up being home to. Roaming the streets of Bombay Beach was also a trip!!! The Ski Inn and Buckshot Diner had great food! It is also close to Salvation Mountain and Slab City (we were awe-struck by the Slab City Library). The place itself was also great. It had everything we needed for a short stay! Everything was clean and the AC was such an added perk in the middle of the summer heat. Richard even had it on for us upon arrival! Great communicative host. Would highly highly recommend this stay!"

"WOW! Just what we needed for a relaxing weekend away from LA. The location was right on the beach, had our own parking in the garage, and was equipped with AC when we got back from walking the Sea. Bombay Beach is a gem and I wanted to keep this place a secret, but it was just so amazing."

"The boathouse was a perfect home base for exploring Bombay Beach. The views from the deck at sunrise and sunset were spectacular and the close proximity to the beach was ideal. Richard was a great host, communicative, and kept the place extremely clean. The property is well-cared for and updated, and has a very relaxing vibe. The beds were very comfortable, and every member of our party remarked on the excellent sleep they got. Would definitely rent again in a heartbeat!"

So, with that, our schedule now has us spending the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th in 29, departing on the 13th (after breakfast) to Bombay Beach, where we will spend the rest of the day and the next morning before heading to Palm Springs. It's a more fun and more efficient way to spend our time in the desert and it just makes sense that we spend a day in Bombay Beach, doesn't it?
